Terry Blake Edwards

For most of her career, Terry Blake Edwards has been very active in the community and regional art scene. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in "Drawing and Painting" in 1974, having been named the "outstanding art student" her senior year.

She works in many mediums interpreting Gulf Coast landscapes, wild life and trees in bold designs and color, including a series of wildflower paintings to which she is continually adding.

She has belonged to and participated in many art associations and is a charter member of ART WAVE, an organization of professional artists whose purpose was to promote the working artist in the region. She has exhibited at George Ohr and Walter Anderson Museums and other noted museums in the tri-state area, winning many awards over the years. She chaired many of the exhibits she participated in locally and has given workshops through these museums as well as art associations and schools in the area. She was noted in Art in Mississippi, 1820-1980 by Patti Carr Black.

Because of Edwards active participation in the art community since graduating, she is now able to spend most of her time painting and showing work by appointment to many loyal patrons that she has developed over the years. She does however still participate in exhibits locally. Since the storm she has shown in an exhibit in New Hampshire as well as Negrottos Gallery in Biloxi, who now exhibits her work and host openings for Ms Edwards almost exclusively.
