Sandy Ford

Sandy Ford lives and paints (in mixed media, water media and acrylics) in Pascagoula, after years of sailing around the world with her husband, Jim. An award-winning artist, Sandy brings a rich background in interior design and fashion design to her work. She paints to convey a mood or feeling or to tell a story - using rich, tactile sensations and patterns.

Sandy is a colorist at heart. Her work is a celebration of paint - not just the painted surface but the brush strokes and the look of paint on the blank surface. She is a member of art organizations in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi and also belongs to the international "Women in the Arts" organization. She is past president of the Singing River Art Association.

Her original work can be seen at the Art House in Ocean Springs, Magnolia Framing & Art Gallery in Gautier and the Jolly McCarty Old Train Depot Art Gallery and La Font Inn in Pascagoula. Her work can be found out of state at the Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope, Ala., and the Performing Arts Association in Foley, Ala.

Sandy says that one of the most astonishing rewards of art making for her comes when people make time to visit the world she has created - some even to purchase a piece to carry it back to their world. If you are one of them, she thanks you. Some of the original paintings are still available - pricing and size are available upon request. Sandy also does commission work. Almost all of the pictures below can be made into 11x14 prints for $30 plus shipping or 11x17 prints for $40 plus shipping.
